  • Sala’s Camp

  • andBeyondKitchwaTembo Tented Camp
  • andBeyondBateleur Camp

Witness the Wildebeest Migration and spot the Big 5 on a Game Drive
If you are traveling between June to October, it’s the ideal time as you will witness The Wildebeest Migration also known as ‘The World Cup of Wildlife’.It’s an incredible time of the year when millions of animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of MasaiMaara National Reserve in Kenya by crossing the Mara River.Lions and other predators follow suit making this a prime time to view the Big 5 in action!

If you aren’t traveling during the Wildbeest Migration then February and March are also a great time to sight the Big Cats!

Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise and Bush Breakfast
Our Travel Engineers highly recommend saving a day to wake up early in the morning to take a hot air balloon ride over the Savannah wilderness for an unimaginable aerial view of the wild followed by a private Bush breakfast. These experiences will complete your African adventure.

Serengeti
3 nights

Abundant Wildlife and stunning landscapes of Serengeti National Park
After Masai Mara you will head towards north Tanzania at Serengeti National park with stunning landscapes and an abundance of wildlife that make it a truly magical place. When you think of what the wilds of Africa look like, Serengeti is likely what you're picturing. Known for the Great Migration, Serengeti is also known to be ‘The Land of Cats’ with different types of lions, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes including the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. Smaller animals like foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax and African hares, together with more than 500 species of birds, also inhabit this park.

Getting to Serengeti
Getting to Serengeti by road can be a bit time consuming and tiring as you will have to go back to Nairobi over a 7 hourdrive and then take a 5 hour bus to Arusha and then further to Serengeti the following taking up almost 2 days in traveling. Therefore our Travel Engineers recommend taking a Safari Link from Masai Mara to Mogori Airstrip on the border town of Kenya and Tanzania further on a car drive to Tarime(price for which is included in the airfare). This works out more convenient as Safari Links operate only in Kenya and only the coastal aviation in Tanzania.

Indulge in popular game drives of Serengeti and spot the Big 5 in action
The sheer abundance of wildlife here is stunning as you will see the Big5 within an hour or two, and the landscape is as picturesque as you can imagine. You will need atleast 3 nights here accounting for the travel time and ensuring you have saved enough time to experience the popular game drives. Our Travel Engineers top recommended lodges here include:

  • Four Season Lodge Serengeti
  • The Singita Lodges
  • The Lemala Lodges
  • The Lamai Lodges
  • andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas
  • andBeyondGrumeti Tented Camp
  • andBeyond Klein’s Camp

Travel Engineers recommend taking a Hot Air Balloon ride in Serengeti if you missed the experience in Masai Mara.

Zanzibar
4 nights

Soak up the warmth of African sun on the pristine white sand beaches of Zanzibar
After a good dose of wildlife, you will now head to pristine ocean beaches and the birthplace of Freddy Mercury, Zanzibar. To get to this gorgeous destination you would fly 2 hour 55 mins to Arusha from Serengeti and further on 1 hour by air to Zanzibar. You could also travel by a 7 hour road journey from Serengeti to Arusha if you want to admire some stunning landscapes of Eastern Africa.Travel Engineers recommend staying at Zuri Zanzibar here.

Scrumptious food, exciting watersports and relaxing on the beach
Touch down in Zanzibar, an East African island full of beautiful contrasts with pristine white sand beaches, colourful coral reefs, endless spices and varied culture. You will spend your next 5 days relaxing on beautiful beaches, indulging in some great food and a whole lot of water activities.

Scuba Dive and dining experience at Rock Restaurant overlooking the ocean in the day and great beach parties in the evening
Our Travel Engineers highly recommend an island excursion to various isolated sandbanks, rugged island scenery, uninhabited islets, pristine marine life and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Indulge in some fresh and delicious seafood and cocktails at the famous Rock Restaurant on MichanwiPingwe beach, a cosy little house built on a rock in the Indian Ocean to enjoy a meal watching the ocean and tides change. Zanzibar is a long coastal stretch with great diving and snorkelling spots. The vibe gets even better in the evenings with great beach parties across the beach stretch.

After spending rather magical and relaxing time in Zanzibar, your African adventure has finally come to an end. On your last day you will fly to Nairobi over 1 hour 20 mins flight and thereon back home!
